In this paper the Pixley-Roy hyperspace \(PR(X)\) of a topological space \(X\) is studied. It is the hyperspace of all nonempty finite subsets of \(X\) endowed with the Pixley-Roy topology i.e. generated by the base \(\{[A,U] | A\in PR(X), U \text{ open in } X \}\) with \([A,U] = \{B\in PR(X), A \subset B \subset U \}\). The focus in this paper is on the study of selective separability of the hyperspace. A topological space is selectively separable if for every sequence \(\{D_n | n \in \omega \}\) of dense subsets, there are finite sets \(F_n \subset D_n\) for \(n \in \omega\) such that \(\cup \{ F_n| n\in \omega \}\) is dense. It is shown that \(PR(X)\) is selectively separable if and only if \(X\) is countable and every finite power of \(X\) has countable fan-tightness for finite sets.
