The authors prove the existence of an open set of \(C^k\) (\(k\geq2\)) vector fields with singularities on a compact 3-manifold that have robust exponential decay of correlations, for \(C^1\) observables, with respect to the unique physical measure. The existence of flows with robust exponential decay of correlations was unknown. This result on singular hyperbolic flows applies to geometric Lorenz attractors, proving that the respective flows have robust exponential decay of correlations, for smooth observables. The strategy involves proving that every 3-dimensional manifold admits Lorenz-like attractors whose 1-dimensional stable foliation is \(C^2\). Then the authors prove that such flows are semi-conjugated to suspension flows whose roof function is constant along the stable leaves. Finally, it is shown that these flows satisfy the assumptions of a criterium for exponential decay of correlations proved in previous works by \textit{A. Avila} et al. [Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 104, 143--211 (2006; Zbl 1263.37051)] and \textit{V. Baladi} and \textit{B. Vallée} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 133, No. 3, 865--874 (2005; Zbl 1055.37027)]. | |||
