The authors study parabolic partial (pseudo-)differential equations on \(\sigma\)-finite measure spaces. They develop a theory both for PDEs and SPDEs. For example, the Cauchy problem associated to a perturbed semilinear equation has the form \[ u_t=-A^\theta u+F(u)+G(u)\dot{z},\quad u(0)=f, \] where \(-A\) is the generator of a symmetric Markovian semigroup, \(\theta\in(0,1]\) and \(\dot{z}\) denotes deterministic space-time perturbation. Interpreted in the mild sense, the authors prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of the function solution under suitable conditions. The hypotheses are formulated in terms of the semigroup, regularity is measured by means of abstract potential spaces. In case of an SPDE, \(\dot{z}\) is interpreted as a multiplicative random noise fractional in time and space. The equation is now interpreted as a deterministic evolution problem in abstract potential spaces and the pathwise approach is applied to show similar results as in the case of a PDE.
