A transformation \(f\) on \(\{1,2,\dots,n\}\) is called `order preserving' if \(i\leq j\) implies \(f(i)\leq f(j)\) for all \(i,j\in\{1,2,\dots,n\}\). All order preserving transformations on \(\{1,2,\dots,n\}\) form a semigroup denoted \(O_n\). For \(r\leq n-2\) let \(K(n,r)\) denote the subsemigroup of \(O_n\) consisting of all transformations of rank at most \(r\). -- In the paper under review the author classifies all maximal regular subsemibands in \(K(n,r)\) and determines the cardinalities of these subsemibands. For \(r\geq 3\) this also classifies maximal regular subsemigroups of \(K(n,r)\).
