    Consider the eigenvalue problem \[ -y^{\prime \prime }+q\left( x\right) y=\lambda y, 0<x<1, \] \[ \left( a_{0}\lambda +b_{0}\right) y\left( 0\right) =(c_{0}\lambda +d_{0})y^{\prime }\left( 0\right), \] \(\left( a_{1}\lambda +b_{1}\right) y\left( 1\right) =(c_{1}\lambda +d_{1})y^{\prime }\left( 1\right),\) where \(\lambda \) is the spectral parameter; \(q \) is a real continuous function in \([0,1];\) and \(a_{k},b_{k},c_{k}\) and \(d_{k}\) with \(k=0,1\) are real constants such that \(\sigma _{0}=a_{0}d_{0}-b_{0}c_{0}<0,\) \(\sigma _{1}=a_{1}d_{1}-b_{1}c_{1}>0\). In this paper, the authors study the oscillation properties of eigenfunctions, derive asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, and examine the basis properties in \(L_{p}\left( 0,1\right) ,\) \(1<p<\infty \) for the eigenfunctions of this eigenvalue problem.
