The author analyzes the notions of power boundedness and mean ergodicity for composition operators \(C_\phi\) acting on weighted Bergman spaces of infinite order \(H^\infty_v\). Recall that a bounded operator \(T:X\to X\) is called power-bounded whenever \(\sup_{n\in \mathbb N} \|T^n\|<\infty\) and is called uniformly mean-ergodic if the Cesàro means \(\frac{1}{n}\sum_{k=1}^n T^k\) is convergent in norm. A~related notion which is used in the paper is to be similar to a contraction (or to a strict contraction), meaning the existence of an invertible operator \(S\) such that \(C=S^{-1}TS\) is a contraction on \(X\) (or a contraction with \(\|C\|<1\)). The author considers the case of radial weights with the condition \(\inf_n \frac{v(1-2^{-n-1})}{v(1-2^{-n})}>0\) and presents a number of results and examples related to the question when composition operators on weighted Bergman spaces have the above mentioned properties.
