The fuzzy transform was introduced by \textit{I. Perfilieva} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 157, No. 8, 993--1023 (2006; Zbl 1092.41022)] and having some interesting properties that allow its use in the curve fitting and smoothing data. In the present study the author suggests an extension of the fuzzy transform in order to control and improve the smoothing effect. Thus an optimization criterion is suggested to obtain the fuzzy transform having some approximation properties based on an estimation of the basic functions from a family of parametric fuzzy numbers. Further, the generalized fuzzy partitions are characterized by the number of subintervals. Some illustrative examples are also included. This is a good contribution in the related area. | |||
