The authors investigate a class of planar systems of the form \[ \dot u = u + P(u,v),\dot v = -v + Q(u,v) \] in a neighborhood of the origin, where \(P\) and \(Q\) are polynomial functions in \(u\) and \(v\) of degree at most four and without constant or linear terms. They give necessary and sufficient conditions for the origin to be a center, and that it be isochronous.
