Let \(\mu\) be a measure on \({\mathbb R}^d\), \(d\geq 3\), with density \(\rho>0\) such that \(\sqrt{\rho}\in W^{1,2}_{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb R}^d)\). Set \(\beta=\frac{\nabla\rho}{\rho}\). Let \(A=(-\Delta-\beta\nabla)|C_c^\infty({\mathbb R}^d)\). The operator \(A\) can be extended to the generator \(A_p\) of a symmetric Markov semigroup in \(L^p({\mathbb R}^d,\mu)\). The author investigates Markov uniqueness and \(L^p\)-uniqueness (including essential self-adjointness) of the operator \(A\). Two kinds of results concerning uniqueness are obtained. The results of the first kind have conditions that prevent \(\beta\) from accumulating critical singularities at infinity. The results of the second kind do not contain any restrictions on \(\beta\) or \(\rho\) at ``infinity''. The size of the review does not permit to give complete statements of the relevant theorems. Therefore, we present here two typical results only: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[1)] Let \(1<p\leq \frac{3}{2}\) and \(|\beta|\in L^{\frac{2p}{2-p}}_{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb R}^d)\), then \(C_c^\infty({\mathbb R}^d)\) is a core of \(A_p\). \item [2)] Let \(p > \frac{3}{2}\) and \(|\beta|\in L^{2p}_{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb R}^d)\), then \(C_c^\infty({\mathbb R}^d)\) is a core of \((A+k\beta^2+V)_p\) for any \(k\in(0, \infty)\) and \(0 \leq V \in L^p_{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb R}^d, \mu)\). \end{itemize}} The proofs presented in this paper are purely operator theoretic. For Part I see [ibid. 109, No. 1, 199--213 (1992; Zbl 0788.47041)].
