In this paper the author gives an explicit presentation of the Drinfel'd double of certain basic quasi-Hopf algebras \(A(n,s,q)\), which are dual to the pointed Majid algebras \(M(n,s,q)\) studied in his previous joint work with \textit{H.-L. Huang} and \textit{Y. Ye} [Commun. Math. Phys. 303, No. 3, 595--612 (2011; Zbl 1235.16028)], and that can be regarded as quasi-Hopf analogues of generalized Taft algebras. When \(s=n-1\) the corresponding quasi-Hopf algebra \(A(n,q):=A(n,n-1,q)\) is isomorphic to the quasi-Hopf algebra \(A(q)\) of dimension \(n^3\) constructed by \textit{S. Gelaki} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 198, No. 1-3, 165--174 (2005; Zbl 1074.16024)]. It was shown by \textit{P. Etingof} and \textit{S. Gelaki} [J. Algebra 322, No. 7, 2580--2585 (2009; Zbl 1267.17010)] that in the case where \(n\) is odd, the Drinfel'd double \(D(A(n,q))\) is twist equivalent to Lusztig small quantum group \(u_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)\). As a consequence of the results in this paper, the author shows that the same does not hold in the case where \(n\) is even. Furthermore, he gives sufficient conditions on \(n\) and \(s\) in order that \(A(n,s,q)\) is not twist equivalent to any Hopf algebra.

Gelaki} [J. Pure Appl.
