In order to provide a robust and accurate domain decomposition, the authors present a cell functional minimization algorithm with non-matching interfaces that allows the use of Robin interface conditions. Contrary to the work of \textit{Y. Achdou} et al. [ibid. 92, No. 4, 593--620 (2002; Zbl 1019.65086)], the convergence of numerical errors does not depend on the interface condition, and contrary to the work of \textit{L. Saas} et al. [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 43, No. 2, 860--890 (2005; Zbl 1088.65100)], the discrete \(H^1\) error can reach \(\mathcal{O} (h)\), only using the orthogonal projection on the non-matching interface. In confirmation with theoretical results numerical examples are given.
