This paper addresses some fundamental problems in fractal geometry and dynamical systems. Starting with an iterated function system (IFS) \({\mathbf A}=\{A_1,\ldots, A_k\}\), a finite set of linear mappings, the pressure function \(P({\mathbf A},s)\) is fundamental in determining the dimension of self-affine sets. The authors show that \(P({\mathbf A},s)\) depends on \({\mathbf A}\) in a continuous way, and therefore the dimension of the resulting self-affine sets is also continuously dependent on the IFS. The authors extend also the approach to more general sub-additive pressure functions and show the corresponding continuity result for the Lyapunov spectrum. It seems to the reviewer that this is the first clear proof for such a continuity result. Hence this paper shall be a basic reference.
