A Finsler metric \(F:TM^0\to M\) on the slit tangent bundle \(TM^0\) of a manifold \(M\) is called of Randers or Matsumoto type if \(F(x,y)=\alpha(x,y)+\beta(x,y)\) or \(F=\frac{\alpha^2}{\alpha-\beta}\) respectively, where \(\alpha(x,y)\) is the square root of the length of the tangent vector \(y\) with respect to a Riemannian metric \(g\) and \(\beta(x,y)=<b(x),y>\) is the inner product of a 1-form \(b\) on \(M\) with \(y\). Based on a classification of invariant metrics on simply connected 3-dimensional Lie groups given by \textit{K. Y. Ha} and \textit{J. B. Lee} [Math. Nachr. 282, No. 6, 868--898 (2009; Zbl 1172.22006)] a table of 15 cases of such metrics and their Christoffel symbols is checked to prove that the only such groups \(G\) admitting invariant Randers and Matsumoto metrics are the Euclidean space \(G=\mathbb{R}^3\), the solvable group \(G=\widetilde{E}_0(2)\) and a non-unimodular group \(G=G_c\). The corresponding 1-forms \(b\) as well as the flag curvatures of these metrics are given in explicit terms.
