The graph of the Weierstrass nowhere differentiable function \(W_{\lambda,b}(x)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty\lambda^n\cos(2\pi b^nx)\) has been studied by many authors. The author gives a simple proof that the Hausdorff dimension of the graph is equal to \(D=2+\frac{\log\lambda}{\log b}\) for \(b\geq 2\), integer, and \(\lambda\in(\lambda_b,1)\), for a suitable \(\lambda_b<1\). The author builds on previous works by \textit{K. Barański} et al. [Adv. Math. 265, 32--59 (2014; Zbl 1296.28009)], of \textit{F. Ledrappier} [Contemp. Math. 135, 285--293 (1992; Zbl 0767.28006)] and of \textit{M. Tsujii} [Nonlinearity 14, No. 5, 1011--1027 (2001; Zbl 1067.37028)]. He points out some advantages of his approach as compared with those of other authors. | |||
