Chung-Grigor'yan-Yau's inequality describes upper bounds of eigenvalues of the Laplacian in terms of subsets (``input'') and their volumes [\textit{F. R. K. Chung} et al., Adv. Math. 117, No. 2, 165--178 (1996; Zbl 0844.53029); in: Tsing Hua lectures on geometry and analysis, Taiwan, 1990--91. Cambridge, MA: International Press. 79--105 (1997; Zbl 0890.58093)]. In the paper under review the author shows that it is possible to reduce ``input'' in Chung-Grigor'yan-Yau's inequality in the setting of Alexandrov spaces satisfying the curvature-dimension condition \(\mathrm{CD}(0, \infty)\). (Alexandrov spaces are complete geodesic metric spaces with local ``sectional curvature'' bounds introduced by A. D. Alexandrov in terms of comparison properties of geodesic triangles and the curvature-dimension condition resembles the non-negative Ricci curvature condition). | |||
