In this interesting paper, the author studies interval maps given on disjoint subintervals by monotone onto functions; the associated dynamical system being thus represented by full symbolic shifts. New results are given in the study of limiting frequencies of words in various expansions; they build upon the theorems of Barreira and Schmeling which showed that the sets of non-typical points with respect to an invariant measure may have full Hausdorff dimension. In the current paper, it is proved that the set of numbers for which frequencies do not converge, in the expansions over a countable set, has dimension equal to the infimum of the dimensions of the sets intersected. In particular, this shows that the set of numbers for which limiting frequencies do not exist in certain expansions has full Hausdorff dimension even after taking countable intersections.
