The extended homotopy analysis method (EHAM) is applied to a achieve the accurate approximate analytical solutions for two-degree of freedom (2DOF) coupled van der Pol-Duffing oscillator. The EHAM provides a proper and systematic way to ensure the convergence of analytic approachment series solutions. Numerical comparisons confirm the accuracy and correctness of the EHAM for 2DOF coupled oscillators. From the examples given in this paper, results that the EHAM is valid for dealing with nonlinear dynamical systems in engineering and physical sciences.
