Summary: We introduce the notion of \(\psi\)-norm by considering the fact that an absolute normalized norm on \(\mathbb C^2\) corresponds to a continuous convex function \(\psi\) on the unit interval \([0,1]\) with some conditions. This is a generalization of the notion of \(q\)-norm introduced by \textit{H. Belbachir, M. Mirzavaziri} and \textit{M. S. Moslehian} [Aust. J. Math. Anal. Appl. 3, No. 1, Article 2, 3 p., electronic only (2006; Zbl 1103.46014)]. Then we show that a \(\psi\)-norm is a norm in the usual sense.
