This paper deals with the existence of a positive solution for the following second order ODE \[ -u''+\rho^2u=w(t)u^s,\quad 0<s<1, \] subject to the periodic boundary conditions \[ u(0)=u(1),\;u'(0)=u'(1). \] The authors prove that, for \(\rho>0\), the problem above has a unique positive solution via a cone fixed point theorem. Moreover, they show that this solution \(u(t,\rho)\) is infinitely differentiable in \(\rho\) and has a singularity of the order of \(\rho^{-\alpha}\) with \(\alpha = 2/(1-s)\) as \(\rho\rightarrow0\). | |||
