A (semi-)Tambara functor on a group \(G\) is a (semi-)Mackey functor on \(G\), equipped with additional structure. The additional structure is motivated by the norm map on cohomology and by the tensor induction of representations. In the paper under review, the author constructs a functor from the category of (semi-)Mackey functors on \(G\) to the category of Tambara functors on \(G\) which is left adjoint to the forgetful functor. Then he relates his construction to several other topics in the literature: crossed Burnside rings as studied by \textit{F. Oda} and \textit{T. Yoshida} [J. Algebra 327, No.~1, 31--49 (2011; Zbl 1217.19001)], Witt-Burnside rings as studied by \textit{M. Brun} [Adv. Math. 193, No.~2, 233--256 (2005; Zbl 1078.19001)] and the Brauer ring of a field extension, as studied by \textit{E. T. Jacobson} [Ill. J. Math. 30, 479--510 (1986; Zbl 0602.13003)].
