Based on the generalization of nonexpansiveness introduced by \textit{T.~Suzuki} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340, 1088--1095 (2008; Zbl 1140.47041)] and the recent work of \textit{A.~Razani} and \textit{H.~Salahifard} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 72, 2421--2425 (2010; Zbl 1188.54022)], the authors prove several interesting fixed point theorems for single- and multi-valued mappings satisfying certain conditions in the context of uniformly convex geodesic metric spaces, hyperconvex spaces and Banach spaces. Some common fixed point results for commuting mappings are also given. | |||
