Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and let R be a normal, complete local k-algebra of dimension two, residue class field k and field of fractions K. Section 1 contains two results about the Brauer group of K. It is shown that the index of a division ring D over K is equal to its period. Furthermore, a description of the Brauer group of K is given in the case that the exceptional fibre of the resolution of the singularity of R is a tree of rational curves. In section 2, maximal R-orders of finite representation type, meaning that there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable Cohen- Macaulay modules, in a central simple K-algebra are considered and their classification, begun in [\textit{M. Artin}, Invent. Math. 84, 195-222 (1986; Zbl 0591.16002)] is completed: Let A be an R-order of finite representation type, then R must be the fixed ring in the power series ring \(R_ 1=k[[ u,v]]\) under the action of a cyclic group, moreover the ramification behaviour of the \(R_ 1\)-order \(R_ 1{\bar \otimes}_ RA\) is described.
