To solve the Korteweg-de Vries equation \[ (1)\quad u_ t+uu_ x+u_{xxx}=0 \] the author proposes an approach which combines: (i) linearization of (1) by the following approximation \[ (2)\quad u_ t^{(n+1)}+u^{(n)}u_ x^{(n)}+u_{xxx}^{(n+1)}=0,\quad n=0,1,2,... \] and (ii) finite difference method to solve the problems (2) and to obtain the converging sequence of the approximations \(u^{(n)}\). The accuracy and efficiency of the scheme is discussed and the numerical method is described in detail. Some numerical examples and results are given. | |||
