The paper deals with the study of asymptotic behavior of the nonoscillatory solutions of a class of difference equations with delay depending on the unknown function of the form \[ \Delta [r(n)\Delta x(n)] +f\left(n,x(n),x\left(\tau (n,x(n))\right)\right)=0 \tag{1} \] under the condition \(\sum^\infty 1/r(s)=+\infty \). A nontrivial solution \(\{ x_n \}\) of (1) is said to be nonoscillatory if the terms \(x_n\) are either eventually positive or eventually negative. The function \(f(n,u,v)\) is said to be strongly sublinear (resp. strongly superlinear) if there exists a constant \(\beta \in (0,1)\) (resp. \(\beta >1\)) such that \(|f(n,u,v)|/|u|^\beta \) is a nonincreasing (resp. nondecreasing) function in \(|u|\), \(|v|\) for each fixed \(n\geq 0\). In the case when \(f\) is a strongly sublinear (superlinear) function, conditions for oscillations of the solutions of (1) are found.
