Suppose that \(X:=(X,d)\) is a metric space and let \(\mathrm{BC}(X)\) be the set of all nonempty bounded and closed subsets of \(X\). For a nonempty subset \(E\) of \(X\), an element \(x\in E\) is an endpoint of a multivalued mapping \(T:E\to\mathrm{BC}(X)\) if \(\{x\}=Tx\). We also say that \(T\) has the approximate endpoint property if \(\inf\{H(\{x\},Tx):x\in E\}=0\), where \(H(\cdot,\cdot)\) denotes the Hausdorff distance. In this paper, the author discusses the problem of the existence of an endpoint of a nonexpansive multivalued mapping where the mapping has the approximate endpoint property. The problem is answered in the positive if \(X\) is one of the following spaces: (a) \(X\) is a uniformly convex space; (b) \(X\) is a reflexive space with Opial's property; (c) \(X\) is a complete CAT(0) space.
