The Iwasawa algebra is the completion of a group algebra of a compact \(p\)-adic analytic group with respect to open normal subgroups. The authors prove that for a Lie group of a split semisimple Lie algebra over a field of \(p\)-adic numbers, the corresponding Iwasawa algebra \(A\) does not have non-trivial two-sided ideals \(I\) such that the canonical map \(I\to\Hom_A(\Hom_A(I,A),A)\) is an isomorphism. A simple yet elegant technique of interplay between Lie algebras defined over \(p\)-adic and prime fields, and passing from a Lie algebra to another Lie algebra with desired \(p\)-torsion properties, is used.
