The topological center of weighted semigroup algebras with a strict topology (Q444709)

Let \(G\) be a locally compact semigroup with a weight function \(\omega\). Moreover, let \(M_a(G,\omega)\) be a weighted semigroup algebra equipped with the locally convex topology \(\tau\) that is stronger than the weak topology but weaker than the so called strict topology. The authors study the second dual of \((M_a(G,\omega),\tau)\) for compactly cancellative foundation semigroups. In particular, it is proved that the second dual with the first Arens product can be identified with a Banach algebra. Moreover, they investigate the topological center of \((M_a(G,\omega),\tau)\). As a consequence, some results on Arens regularity and strong Arens irregularity are proved.
