A Maltsev family is a class of varieties satisfying a Maltsev condition. If \(V\), \(W\) are varieties, then their Maltsev product is denoted by \(V*W\). A Maltsev family \(F\) is called robust if whenever \(V\), \(W\) are idempotent varieties from \(F\) then \(H(V*W)\) also belongs to \(F\). The authors study eleven Maltsev families (the family having a cube-term, a Taylor term, a Maltsev term, Jonsson terms, a near unanimity term, Day terms, meet semi-distributivity, a non-trivial congruence identity, semi-distributivity, \(n\)-permutability, semidistributivity and \(n\)-permutability) with respect to the closedness under join, Maltsev product and robustness.
