This paper deals with the study of \(C^2\)-compact convex hypersurfaces of \({\mathbb R}^{2n}\) (\(n\geq 2\)) with finitely many geometrically distinct closed characteristics. The main result of this paper establishes that there are at least two geometrically distinct elliptic closed characteristics. Moreover, the authors give a lower bound of the number of geometrically distinct closed characteristics such that for any two of them, the ratio of their mean indices is an irrational number. The proofs combine several refined techniques, including the Fadell-Rabinowitz index and the Long-Zhu index jump methods.
