The author introduces a Spezialschar of Siegel modular forms of degree \(2n\) in terms of the Hecke algebra attached to Siegel modular forms of degree \(n\) and proves that this is the Maaß\ Spezialschar in the case of the Siegel threefold. He characterizes the space of Siegel modular forms of degree two and the corresponding Spezialschar in terms of Taylor coefficients and certain differential operators.
