The authors investigate continuous inventory systems with one product without time lag. The times between demands are described by independent identically distributed random variables. One item is put into operation as an exhibiting item. The live-time of this item is assumed to be exponentially distributed. On failure it is immediately replaced by another item from the stock. The authors use (s,S)-policies.
