Consider a smooth irreducible elliptic curve X, of degree eight of \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\). Let \({\mathcal I}_ X\) be the ideal sheaf of X in \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\). Then \(H^ 1({\mathbb{P}}^ 3,{\mathcal I}_ X(4))\neq 0\) if and only if X has a 6-secant line.
