    The authors consider the nonlinear diffusion system \[ u_t= d_u\Delta u+ f(u,v),\quad v_t= d_v\Delta v+ g(u,v)\quad\text{in }\Omega\times (0,\infty)\tag{1} \] with Neumann boundary conditions \[ \partial u/\partial\nu(x, t)= \partial v/\partial\nu(x, t)= 0\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega\times (0,\infty)\tag{2} \] and the initial conditions. The authors assume that any solution of its kinetic system \[ u_t= f(u,v),\quad v_t= g(u,v)\tag{3} \] exists globally in time. The authors prove that, if \(0\leq d_u< d_v\) and \(f(u,v)= | u-v|^{p-1}(u- v)- u\), \(g(u,v)= | u-v|^{p-1}(u- v)-v\) \((p>1)\), then some solution of (1), (2) blow up in finite time, while (3) possesses a globally stable equilibrium.
