    Let R be a commutative ring with 1. For points \(P=(p_ 1,p_ 2)\), \(Q=(q_ 1,q_ 2)\) of the R-module \(R^ 2\) the Lorentz Minkowski distance is defined by \(d(P,Q)=(p_ 1-q_ 1)(p_ 2-q_ 2).\) Denote by M(R) the monoid of the mappings \(\mu: R^ 2\to R^ 2\) such that \(d(P,Q)=1 \Rightarrow d(P^{\mu},Q^{\mu})=1\) for any \(P,Q\in R^ 2\) and \((0,0)^{\mu}=(0,0)\), \((1,1)^{\mu}=(1,1)\). In case \(R=field K\), \(char K\not\in \{2,3,5\},\) M(R) was described by \textit{W. Benz} [J. Geom. 18, 70-77 (1982; Zbl 0499.51006)] and the reviewer [J. Geom. 21, 164-183 (1983; Zbl 0547.51005)] and in the case of Clifford ring by \textit{W. Benz} [Aequationes Math. 28, 80-87 (1985; Zbl 0575.51009)]. Generalizing these results the author proves that if \(R=K[x]/<x^ 2>\) (where K is a field with char \(K\neq 2,3,5)\), then M(R) is generated by the following mappings: \((a)\quad (x,y)\mapsto (y,x)\) and \((b)\quad (x,y)\mapsto (f(x),f(y)),\) where \(f: R\to R\) is a (ring) morphism with \(f(1)=1\). If \(R=\{a+be| a,b\in K\},\) \(e^ 2=e\), then M(R) is generated by the mappings (a), (b) and \((x,y)\mapsto (x(1-e) + ey, y(1-e) + ex).\)
