Enveloping algebras of Lie superalgebras (Q1073894)

The paper contains a review of elementary properties of Lie superalgebras and their representations. Various methods of Noetherian ring theory are then applied to an enveloping algebra U(L) of a finite-dimensional Lie superalgebra L. In particular, it is shown that U(L) has an Artinian ring of quotients, that Harish-Chandra's theorem holds for U(L) and that in many cases U(L) is a ring with infinite global dimension. The Joseph- Small additivity principle for Goldie rank is also discussed in the above context, providing some information about the relationship between finite-dimensional irreducible representations of U(L) and those of the Lie algebra \(L_ 0\) (i.e. the even part of L).
