Let \(\Delta\) (B) be the defect group of the p-block B in a finite group G and let b be the corresponding block in \(N_ G(\Delta (B))\). Alperin conjectured that B and b have the same number of height 0-characters. In the case of p-solvable groups several proofs of the conjecture are known, also one by the author. This paper contains some consequences of this result. For example, the following is proved: ''Let G be p-solvable, B and b as above. If \(\Delta\) (B) is abelian then B and b have the same number of ordinary and modular irreducible characters.''
