The paper reports a rigorous proof of the existence of quasi-one-dimensional traveling waves in the Kortweweg-de Vries limit of two-dimensional Fermi-Pasta-Ulam dynamical lattices of different types (in particular, square-, triangular-, and diamond-shaped ones). The proof is elaborated for an arbitrary propagation direction of the wave in the underlying two-dimensional lattice and is based on an asymptotic analysis of nonlinear integral equations with singular perturbations. The stability problem is not addressed in this work. On the other hand, the developed analysis suggests possibilities for proving similar results for three-dimensional dynamical lattices.
