For a continuous action \(\pi:G\times X\to X\) of a topological semigroup \((G,\circ)\) on a compact metric space \((X,d)\), a point \(x\in X\) is called Bohr almost periodic for the action if for any \(\epsilon>0\) the set \(P=\{\tau\in G\mid d(\pi(g,x),\pi(\tau\circ g,x))<\epsilon\,\forall g\in G\}\) is left syndetic in the sense that there is a compact subset \(L\subset G\) with \(P\circ L=G\). Here the topological and probabilistic structure and the pointwise ergodic behaviour of Bohr almost periodic motions of topological abelian semi-group actions of this sort are considered. Among several issues that arise in this semigroup setting (as opposed to that of group actions) is that the Haar-Weil theorem does not hold in the acting semigroup. The topological structure results here generalise those of \textit{V. V. Nemytskii} and \textit{V. V. Stepanov} [Qualitative theory of differential equations. New Jersey: Princeton University Press (1960; Zbl 0089.29502)] for actions of the reals. The main probabilistic (or ergodic) results relate Bohr almost periodicity to unique ergodicity of the action and establish a form of pointwise ergodic theorem that holds uniformly on the support of a suitable invariant measure.
