The authors are dealing with the periodic homogenization question for a family of elliptic problems endowed with a singular production term. The formulation involves a microscopic two-phase model, with the singularity talking place on the boundary of the macro-domain \(\Omega\) (hence, not at the location of the microscopic interfaces separating the two phases). The passage to the homogenization limit is done for the different strength ranges of a power-law singularity. In my view, it would also be interesting to attempt to deriving corrector estimates for the homogenization asymptotics, keeping track (if possible) on the effect the strength of the singularity has on the convergence rate.
