The Arctan/Tan and Kepler-Burgers mappings are studied for solving differential equations having internal boundary layers (regions of rapid change of solutions). Examples for these layers are shock waves, geophysical fronts, Hermite functions etc. Methods are given for the construction of general periodic mappings using the author's theory of ``imbricate series''. Results of numerical examples are given.
