This paper establishes the exponential decay for solutions of the (inhomogeneous) wave equation on a Kerr-de Sitter background with sufficiently small angular momentum. The result applies to advanced solutions of the wave equation on a domain extending from slightly inside the black hole horizon to slightly outside the cosmological horizon. Advanced solutions are solutions supported on a domain lying to the future of some constant time hypersurface in suitable coordinates. The results, however, can be translated into exponential decay for solutions of the Cauchy problem for the wave equation. These results generalize previous work where exponential decay in the region between horizons (and up to horizons) was proved. The key ingredient of this work is the scattering resolvent discussed by the same author in a previous work on quasi-normal modes and exponential energy decay in the same background spacetime. The author uses this scattering resolvent in the domain between horizons (and away from them) in order to find exponential decay of the advanced solution there. The problem on the whole domain can be reduced to this one by using a parametrix (i.e. an exponentially decaying solution in a neighbourhood of the black hole and cosmological horizons), in combination with the redshift effect on the horizons.
