In this paper the authors demonstrate several straightforward results about elliptic curves given by equations of the form \(y^2 = x^3 + a^3\) over \({F}_p\), where \(p\) is a prime congruent to 1 modulo 6. The two most prominent results are the following: (1) the sum of the \(x\)-coordinates of the rational points on such a curve is zero, and (2) the sum over all \(a \in{F}_p^\times\) of the number of rational points on such curves is \(p^2-1\). The authors' proofs consist of manipulating quadratic and cubic residue symbols. One may also observe that the first result follows from standard properties of polynomials, while the second result can be proved using the theory of quadratic twists on elliptic curves.
