The authors suggest new methods for the digital model conversion of continuous-time interval systems and for the digital redesign of sampled-data interval systems. It is assumed that for a continuous-time interval system a cascaded nominal controller is available or it can be predesigned and it is also supposed that both the controller and the plant can be formulated using state-space interval models. The Chebyshev quadrature formula and interval arithmetic are applied to construct the discrete-time uncertain model which correspond to the continuous-time uncertain system. The digital redesign takes into account implementation errors and intersample behavior so that the resulting dynamic states of the digitally controlled continuous-time interval systems can closely match those of the originally analogously controlled continuous-time interval systems for a relatively longer sampling period.
