    It is shown that if \(f(x)= e^{-x^2/ 2} F(x)\), and for some \(\gamma\in (1/3, 1/2]\) the conditions \[ \omega (f, n^{-1/2})n^{-1/3+ \gamma}\to 0 \] and \(n^{1/6} \sup_{|x|> n^\gamma} |f(x)|\to 0\) as \(n\to \infty\), then for the Lagrange interpolation polynomials \(L_n (F; x)\) based on the Hermite abscissas it is true that \[ \lim_{n\to \infty} |e^{-x^2 /2} \bigl( F(x)- L_n (F; x) \bigr) |=0. \] This result is also shown to be sharp in a certain sense regarding the parameter values. The results should be compared with those on mean convergence of the Lagrange process proved by \textit{A. Knopfmacher} and \textit{D. S. Lubinsky} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 17, 79-103 (1987; Zbl 0634.41003)].
