Let \(B_1\) be the unit ball centered at the origin in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N\geq 3\). The authors consider small \(C^2\) perturbations of \(B_1,\;\Omega_t=\{x+t\psi (x):x\in B_1\}\), \(t>0,\) where \(\psi :\bar{B}_1\to\mathbb R^N\). They investigate the existence of positive weak solutions to the problem: \[ (1)\quad -\Delta_y u(y)=|\nabla_y u(y)|^p \text{ in } \Omega_t,\quad u=0 \text{ on } \partial \Omega_t, \] where \(N\geq 3\) and \(\frac{N}{N-1}<p<2\) or \(p>2\). Their main result (Theorem 1) is as follows: For sufficiently small \(C^2\) perturbations \(\Omega_t\) of the unit ball, there exists a positive singular weak solution \(u(x)\) of (1) such that \newline 1) if \(\frac{N}{N-1} <p<2,\) u blows up at exactly one point \(x_t\), near the origin, and behaves like \(u(x)\approx C|x-x_t|^{\frac{p-2}{p-1}}\) near \(x_t,\) 2) if \(p>2\), then \(u\in C^{\infty}(\Omega_t/ \{x_t\})\), with \(u\in C^{0,\frac{p-2}{p-1}}(\bar{\Omega}_t)\). Moreover, \(u\) is not in \(C^{0,q}(\bar{\Omega}_t)\) for any \(q> \frac{p-2}{p-1}\). The proofs are based on the introduction of weighted Hölder spaces and the application of the Banach fixed point theorem to a suitable nonlinear mapping \(J_t\) in these spaces.
