Functionally separable solutions to nonlinear wave equations by group foliation method (Q874944)

In this very technical article the authors discuss functionally separable solutions of nonlinear wave equations of the form \[ u_{tt}=(A(x)D(u)u_x)_x+B(x)Q(u). \] After a very brief introduction into the underlying computational technique, the main part of the article consists of the lengthy derivation of a classification (summarised in five tables) of all equations of the given type admitting functionally separable solutions.
