First-order differential equations with unbounded memory are considered. It is established that problems of chaos stabilization can be reduced to the analysis of a corresponding stability of differential equations with unbounded memory. Positivity of the Cauchy function is mentioned to play an essential role when proving the stability (including the exponential one) of scalar Volterra equations. For some special equations (in particular, the ones with lumped delays of a special form), constructive sufficient conditions of positivity of such functions are derived. Issues of stabilization of nonlinear systems are discussed, too.
