The authors study the quasilinear 3D wave equation \[ \partial_t^2 u-(1+u+\partial_t u)\Delta u=0 \] with small radial initial data \(u(0,x)=\varepsilon u_0(|x|)\), \(\partial_t u(0,x)=\varepsilon u_1(|x|)\), \(x\in\mathbb{R}^3\). They show that the classical solution blows up in finite time and find explicit asymptotic expression of the lifespan \(T_\varepsilon\) of this solution as \(\varepsilon\to 0+\).
