This paper is devoted to an analog of the method of orbits (geometric quantization) for the quantum group \(SU_ q(N)\). The coadjoint action is replaced by the quantum dressing action of \(SU_ q(N)\) on its solvable dual \(AN_ q\). After introducing this action the author specializes to the case where the corresponding classical coadjoint orbit is a Grassmann manifold. He explicitly computes the Poisson bracket on this manifold in convenient local coordinates, and then constructs a quantization of the Grassmannian, i.e. a deformation of the algebra of functions such that the Poisson bracket is the infinitesimal deformation of the commutator. The commutation relations of the resulting \(^*\)-algebra can be nicely expressed using the \(R\)-matrix underlying \(SU_ q(N)\). The next step is to construct irreducible representations from these orbits. One has to construct an analog of polarizations by passing to the subspace of antiholomorphic (in a certain sense) elements and passing to a cyclic submodule. Then under certain restrictions on the orbit, which correspond to the classical integrability conditions, the author proves that one gets a finite dimensional irreducible representation of the algebra \[ {\mathcal A}_ q(AN) \cong {\mathcal U}_ h ({\mathfrak sl} (N,\mathbb{C})). \] {}.
