Let \(\Omega\) be a domain in \(\widehat{\mathbb{C}}\) and let \(K=\partial\Omega\). The set \(K\) is called uniformly perfect if \(K\cap\{z\): \(cr<| z- a|\leq r\}\neq\emptyset\) for \(a\in K\) and \(0<r<\text{diam }K\). Such a set has positive capacity and thus a Green's function \(G(z,w)\). Let \(z_ j\) denote its critical points. We represent the domain as \(\Omega\cong \mathbb{D}/\Gamma\) where \(\Gamma\) is a Fuchsian group. The author proves the nice result that the following conditions are equivalent: (1) \(K=\Omega\) is uniformly perfect; (2) \(\sum_ j G(z_ j,w)^{1+\varepsilon}<\infty\) for every \(\varepsilon>0\); (3) there is a fundamental domain of \(\Gamma\) that is bounded by a quasicircle; (4) there is a fundamental domain \(F\) of \(\Gamma\) that is bounded by a chord- arc curve. Moreover \(F\) can be constructed such that \(\partial F\) meets the unit circle in a uniformly perfect set.
